A ‘Zero Generation' message appears when the Solar Smart Monitor has detected no energy being produced from the solar system. A ‘Zero Generation' alert can be caused by a solar system fault or a Solar Smart Monitor fault which leads to a false diagnosis.
The possible causes include:
- weather events. i.e. storms or large dark clouds
- inverter fault
- panel fault
- wiring fault
- disconnection of the solar panels
- tripped circuit breaker
- blown fuse
- faulty connectors
- earth fault
- grid over-voltage or under-voltage
- incorrect inverter voltage setting
- monitoring device fault
Please refer to the What actions are required on my end? for advice on what to do in the case of a zero generation fault.
As required by Australian Standard AS5033:2012, we will continue to send the 'zero production' email notifications hourly for up to 10 days unless you click the acknowledge button in the emails.
